If I could afford it, I would shoot weddings with a medium format camera. Eventually. Soon. But not yet.

Me, too!

If I was getting paid good money like most of the people on this forum seem to be, I would definitely be considering this new 645Z. And it's great for your branding just to be seen carrying something like that around.

I use two D4 bodies and sometimes a D800 at weddings. Most uncle Bobs don't have two D4 bodies. Or a 200/2.

On the other hand... just think of the RAW file sizes... just ridiculous. It's very impractical as well. I can see for e-Sessions or the day-after sessions... but for an actual wedding? Meh.

If you are relying on a camera to help with your branding, you're gonna need a HD-4 or S2. The "low price point" Pentax is too small for those who don;t care and too cheap for those who will be impressed by expensive gear.

It does three frames per second! Weddings aren't a sporting event.

my d800 takes 3-5 seconds to review a single image taken on an SD card; it's only 36mp.... think about it...

This information is extrapolated from the specs page. Although it does not say, I'm assuming they are using the fastest SD cards available. Once a production unit is tested by DP Review, they will have exact figures.

Continuous shooting:
High - 4.5fps: JPEG ( L: ★★★ ) up to approx. 30 frames, RAW: up to approx. 10 frames, TIFF: up to approx. 12

Low - 3fps: JPEG (L: ★★★ ) up to approx. 100 frames, RAW: up to approx. 25 frames, TIFF: up to approx. 15
