Not being a landscape shooter (mainly because we have NO landscape here) and not having a body like a D800e to really bring it out with those types of images. I've relied on this lens as a special interest lens when shooting sport or editorial images. I envy all those living in such picturesque places and those who's time and work allow them to leave / vacation / enjoy time away from home to use this glass.

Although I've had this lens for years... I really enjoy using it 'in my eye'. That is to see though it as it sees things, and choosing when to hit the shutter.

Wonderful shots! Love the dark and moody feel, and the perspectives are great! Nice to see some landscapes that are a bit dark and more natural looking, brilliant!

The Cleveland arcade was actually sad to me.. It was empty and didn't look like there was much in there anymore.

E 4th street a cool place and looks even cooler at night because the lights over head stay on. I want to do a return shoot at night of the Euclid ave area in Cleveland.

The Island at Camana Bay, Cayman Islands.

D800e, 14-24mm, 12 shots, merged into a circular panorama and run through Photoshop's Polar Co-ordinates filter. The master file is somewhere around 18000px square, so could, in theory, be printed fairly large.

How the hell do you do a circular panorama like this? This is sick and i'd love to give it a shot with the city scape in my area. Any tips?

He pretty much explained it in his post.
Here's an online tutorial for you as well if you want to try and experiment.

Steve and Justin are you guys just doing multiple exposure blends? I know Steve mentioned only using polarizing filters, no grads. How about you Justin?

I've never used grads either. IMO they only work perfectly with flat horizon shots, which I rarely shoot. I use multiple exposures and focus points on almost every image I have. The recent moon shot uses 12 shots for focus throughout, and the sunset only uses 1 base image with a very small amount of highlight detail from a darker exposure.

I've said this before, but the best way to view these is to click on the first image on a page, get the black screen, and then just scroll through all of them like a slide show with the right/left arrows.

I learned something new today, and I thank you.. Great viewing this way .. So many wonderful images in this thread.

I love the slightly 'surreal' look to these shots. Did you do much in the way of post to achieve this look? Judging by the sunstars, a fairly tight aperture and long exposure?

What i did was F13 at 45 second bulb at ISO 64.

Otherwise the only thing that's changed is the color balance to tungsten to make it a little bluer, and temp edited a tad to cool it off.
