Is there any way Fred could make these official lens and body threads a little more long lasting? There have been so many started recently that I'm afraid they'll be archived before we know it

I wasn't. It's a wonderful idea to keep track of those threads. Without a thread at the top linking them all, we get what happened this morning

I have to be a naysayer here. I belong to another unrelated two wheel forum, and every time the latest, greatest topic of interest comes along, people want it to be a sticky, like a forum is an encyclopedia. It isn't, a forum is simply a social media for some knowledge, and common interests.

IMO this cataloging ruins the fun of a forum.
If a thread has no interest, it dies and goes away.
Stickies force/keep threads to the top that should be gone, and active threads remain active through participation.
And, some of this will get archived eventually, because that's how the overall board gets managed and "freshened.

I agree with Craig. It was never my intention for anything to become of this thread.
Yesterday morning I was tied to my computer with back and forth emails and killing time in between reading the forum. When all the Image Threads started popping up I started making an index (my analytical mind). For some unknown reason I just decided to post it. It like other threads will die a natural slow death.

Thanks Will. I made it into a Word document for my own use. I learn from looking at the EXIF data and composition of these photos. Thought maybe someone else might be interest. Actually didn't expect a reply.

Great idea.. but I think the "Your Best Nikon shots" should be on top of the list IMO

Except this is a gear/tech forum that should be used as a resource for information. In off-topic/general discussions forums, I agree, there is nothing of value to be stickied. However, in tech. forums...

Threads like these combine the mess into one resource thread with links. Stickying each "official" thread would be ridiculous, which is why threads like this are created and stickied.
