Ordered a new Nikon lens yesterday ... but not one for the camera.

Something different ... can't wait until it gets in ... those poor paper targets

I sell these along with Zeiss, Leupold and Swarovski and for the dollar spent, there is no better optic available IMHO.

And what are you going to mount this on?

Meh, in the Nikon price range, I'd rather have a Burris. I've always wondered why Nikon doesn't try playing with the big boys like USO, S&B, NF, etc.

Photography and guns; terrible combination on the bank account haha

I'm just glad that in 2009 I loaded up on everything I could ever want/need before all the crazy panics that drove prices to the moon. Have fun finding 22LR man, seriously, it ain't easy these days.

Yea ... I can't figure why it's so hard to get ... well, I can, but that too political a topic ... but I'm set for now with a box of 500 rounds and there's a local shop that gets them in on a regular basis ... just have to be there first thing when they open on Tuesdays

Same here. I'm still shooting out of my pre-panic stash.

Nice scope, I have one mounted on a Kimber bolt .22. Adjustments are accurate, and optics are very good for the $. I am sure Nikon could compete with the likes of S&B, NF, etc., but that is a limited market. Most shooter / hunters will not spend more for a scope than they do their rifle. Nikon, along with Leupold and Burris all make very nice glass that is affordable to the average guy.

A tip on .22's - Get to your local Walmart at about 7am, as that is when they stock the shelves, with availability at normal prices..

I have a Burris on my 1962 10/22 and it's a tack driver. A few years ago Walmart had a sale on .22LRand I bought a couple of thousand rounds, so I'm set for awhile.

I'm looking through some other Nikon optics right now ..... my eyeglasses. I've used some of their microscopes in the past as well as spotting scopes and binoculars. Have fun plinkin' away.

Yea, I've seen commercials for Nikon lenses for eye glasses. I never thought about who makes the glass for my glasses ... maybe because I've never had an issue ... I wonder if Nikon's making any money at it?

I've used Nikon inspection scopes to inspect Si wafers ... I liked them well enough ... but I don't think they are in that business any longer as I've not seen one in some time. They are still in the photolithography scanner business but are in the #2 spot WAY WAY WAAAAY behind ASML in terms of market share ... and there is no 3rd party in the game.

The Monarch 7 series binoculars are a total home run. Superb optical quality, light gathering and especially value compared to Burris, Zeiss, etc. It's like comparing the Sigma 50 f/1.4 and Zeiss Otus lens: yes, the latter is better, but for the money, it's hard to see the difference.

The Nikon rangefinders are well made and very accurate as well.
