Last week after attending a free concert—bud's wife won tickets—I took a detour with plans to head to spot to shoot the aurora. The forecast for aurora, at that moment, was good. After about 30min of driving things started to go down hill with aurora activity so I decided to head home. Thinking ahead I decided to take a longer route home in case the aurora showed up. I ended up at this giant metal wheel when the aurora made a small appearance. I was really disappointed with all the surrounding farm lights but decided to shoot anyway. This wheel is just off the highway and I waited for the right moment to shoot this 3 image pano. 2 cars coming from opposite directions provided light to illuminate the wheel. Which, by the way, is about 12ft high. I used my Samyang 14mm/2.8 lens for this.
Two versions. Second slightly darker and more realistic. 1st has a little more impact.
