What kind of wildlife could you have got pictures of had you had a longer lens? The mammals tend to be nocturnal in Australia, or at best come out at dusk.

I saw wallabies, pademelons, possums, echidnas, platypus, wombats, different snakes, eagles, kingfisher and some other birds. Most of them during daytime although the possums mainly at night.

Those are great collections.

I'd say some of the Lucy's Creek images could use just a touch more blur to the water, but are very nice regardless.

#25 is the standout to me, with the color in the rain. Fabulous.

I'm impressed with your choice to go with only a 21mm and a 50mm. I'd be tempted to carry a whole set of lenses "just in case", or at least a 135mm or 200mm.

Nice work.

Looking through the images again, I'm struck by how well you have expressed the motion through time exposure -- especially the grasses on the coast, and of course the wave motions. Very impressive set!

Thanks!

I shot most of the images at Lucy Creek both with and without a ND filter. I had some problems the get the colors/WB right in PP with the ND images. Therefore I prefered mostly the images shot without ND filter.

Great pictures. I didn't know you could post this many at a time on one post.

Let me add my kudos - and you provided an excellent reminder that shooting in wet conditions can enhance color!

Just out of curiosity - did you consider bringing a 35mm and a mid-tele (anywhere between 85-105mm) and stitch images where you needed a wider angle? I agree that weight-wise bringing just two lenses is best, but I am also exploring stitching to avoid lugging my wideangles...

For landscapes I'm more a wide angle shooter. Even in Iceland I carried in addition to my 21mm and 50mm lenses only two more wideangle lenses (a 15mm rectilinear and a 15mm fisheye).

I could have used a mid-tele for some close up detail shots and will probably get a mid-tele macro lens in the near future.

And I don't like stitching, both the shooting experience in the field and the PP afterwards.

Boris, great set of images, thanks for sharing.
#25,#26,#41 are my favorites.
You should try the Leica R 180/2.8 APO as you can add the Leica 2x APO extender and get an excellent 360mm lens for wildlife and the focus ring is very easy to adjust for fast focusing of wildlife. It is not that bad weight wise as I have hiked with that lens. It is a very sharp lens for landscapes and wildlife.

Thanks Phil and Wayne!

Wayne, if Leica R then I would rather get the 4.0/280 APO, but they not easy to find.
