| p.1 #1 · Northern Flying Squirrel |
Here's another deck side visitor. I have to pull in the bird feeders just after dusk or I'll have a black bear up on my deck in the middle of the night. The last few days I noticed the flying squirrels launching off of the deck rail as I brought in the feeders. So, I replaced the subtle outdoor lighting in the outdoor coach light from 25 watt to two 60 watt bulbs. I then asked my wife to hold the 2 million candlepower spotlight on the squirrel so I could get enough light to AF. The rechargeable spotlight's batteries die after long periods of illumination, so tonight, I'll build an outdoor incandescent/halogen flood lamp setup with dimmer for constant variable illumination. These were baited with peanuts, cashews, almonds, etc. The IQ isn't the best on these, but I'll try and get them better with more light later tonight.
