This is a stacked photo from a timelapse sequence that I shot up in the Inyo Forest.

First, I have to say I DO like it, but if you don't mind a suggestion, I wonder if it would be a bit stronger if you cropped off a little on the right.

Good point. Might look a little cleaner with that bit on the right cropped out.

You have a damn good tripod.
And a breezeless night.
And a striking image.
The left sky is reminscent of Van Gogh.
I agree with the crop suggestion. The brighter, more vertical stripe might be worth toning down.

Hi Andrew,

First.... what a cool looking shot, I like the distortion in the star trails on the left side, it is a sweet effect.

As for specifics, the cropping is no big deal to me, but for me the biggest thing you can do is to remove those 2 odd star trails in the middle right. They really stick out and I am surprised no one else has mentioned them. Find out what frames they are on, and go clone them out so it stacks clean. Both extra trails are distracting, but especially the one that cuts in front of the tree branch. That will make a few people scratch their heads....

Its hard to clone those out because its lens flare from the moon light.

Love the composition and contrast. Agree that if you can get those two strange flyers out would help. I would suggest content aware if you are using PS.

Great Job Andrew. I always like seeing Star Trails. You have a really nice foreground too! Great Work!

Beautiful indeed!

Well captured, little bright to my taste though, after fixing the previous suggestions you will have a true winner here!

Cheers!
Andrey
