| p.1 #1 · Nikon d700 exposure wierdness - Input please? |
Ive had a d700 for 3 odd years now. For 2 years its been fantastic. It has cut the amount of post processing down dramatically by being almost always DEAD on with exposure.
About 7 months ago it started acting funny, especaially with the flash on. It would almost always over expose, and sometimes didnt fire, and other times would show a red grid in the viewfiender.
After upgrading my flash to a sb 910, and having my main lens redone by nikon, I finally figured it was a flash shoe issue when it started to just randomly fire. Excellent.
Anyway, off it goes to nikon for a 250 dollar repair that they wont pay for because they dont believe its a know issue. But I digress, they fixed it, and "checked exposure" and have deemed it in good health.
So now its back, and it works, doesnt automatically fire, but something is STILL wrong. It seems to almost always be overexposing 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop. And , like digitial when underexposed, the photo's seem to lack saturation ( because of course they DO) and I have to fix them individually in Raw.
I know ...set the camera to underexpose a 1/3 of a stop.....
But im curious as tho what is going on and why?
I shoot in aRGB and then convert to the working space in photoshop. Same as always.
