This isn't a mainstream sport at the moment, but I truly can't believe how fast it has been growing. The grass-roots efforts have been remarkable. Weekend sessions, week long events, midnight runs, and neighborhood get-togethers are happening nearly all the time if there's not any snow on the ground.
Yes, Aqualung.......it's scary that not everyone wears leathers, but I'd say it has more to do with the expense. A good, used set will cost $300-$500 (new $800-$2000), but most will just make due with some motorcycle jackets/pants (which works well). It's not about the look, but that they're flying down the hill!
