These are the last two original covered bridges in North Carolina. I wish there were more since I love taking pictures of them.

The first is Pisgah Covered bridge, near Ashboro. The bridge was built in 1911 by J. J. Welch at a cost of $40.

The next is Bunker Hill Covered bridge in Claremont. It was built in 1895 by Andy L. Ramsour.

Come to New Brunswick, just east of Maine. We have around 60 left, including the longest in the world at over 400 feet long. We lost one this past week in massive flooding. Just lifted it up and floated away after having stood in the same spot for 87 years.

Kaleano: I would love to come to New Brunswick for the Covered bridges. I grew up in Vermont so I am used to seeing a lot of them.

Sorry Kaleano but Ashtabula Ohio USA now has the longest covered bridge in the world. It is 633 long and sets 100 feet about the Ashtabula river. It is not an original tho, it was completed in 2008 if I remember correctly.

No you didn't hijack the thread always interested in seeing other bridges

The bridge in New Brunswick is still the largest at over 400 meters long, he just put feet instead. It is over 1200 feet long. very pretty bridge too.

The bridge in Ohio is very beautiful, surprised they invested in a covered bridge today.

beardedspoooon: These are SOOC, the Second one (Bunker Hill Covered Bridge) is an HDR but no processing after the combining of them.
