Love them both, but the 1st one is really stunning. Contour on the subject might be a little harsh though (refine edge issue) or it could look better with a shadow around them. It would mask the cutting around the male subject in the foreground, theres a bit of white around his left shoulder making it a bit less believable.

Is the background a shot from the Paris catacombs ?

Anyways very creative idea for this one.

Nothing to say against the 2nd one.

I shot this image against a 'black' background using a beauty dish from the front and a bare speedlight behind them to get some separation. The rough white lines are (mostly) caused by the speedlight hitting stray hairs and fabric. My editing skills do need a bit more practice.
