Typical PM goes something like this...
"Will, you've got all these great FX bodies so why still using a D7K?"
I dunno, glutton for punishment perhaps?! Maybe I just love the files.
Took a day off from shootin' rodeo and the hit the Zoo with my Mom,
Daughters, and Grandbaby this mornin'. All grabbed when I wasn't
busy fillin' cards with shots of them.

Props to Sony for the sensor, Nikon for the 70-200 f2.8 VR II
SOOC 'pegs. My settings, just a brew away...

The D7k is a brilliant little camera, that sensor has excellent IQ and I am almost sorry I sold mine. But the D800E covers all bases for me, so it's not a huge loss.

Wonderful photos, Will!

Well, one could use a D7100 too. I suppose one answer would be "because there is no D400."

Thanks a lot, Lance. Maybe it's the cheap thrills

I bought a D600 but I still have the D7000 standing by. I have no intention of selling it. Great photos TM.

Great shots as always Will I second that you give the D7100 another try, she deserves that!

On my second D7000... This one is much better than my first one (which had every bad issue the initial release had). I still can't get the final output that you seem to be able too Will, but I am getting there. I think my issue is that whatever I seem to do, I can't nail exposure, always just enough under that I either get noise or can't balance highlights without blowing them out. I pretty much have to shoot raw to have a chance.

You certainly get some fantastic images with that, which reason enough to keep it around. If only I could get images like that with mine.

Thanks, Hussain! I didn't like the Toshiba sensor SOOC and the AF was inconsistent. Many sport
and BIF shooters will attest to that wonky AF. Misses cost me money, I'm >98% with the D7K. Shrug.

After ~200,000 shots...nailing exposure becomes 2nd nature, Kevin. Hang in there!
