Interestingly there weren't that many other photographers there that morning. We spent about two hours shooting the ever changing light over the valley and were treated to some fantastic, but very difficult conditions.
There was this one chap stood to my left trying out the Sony A7r with various Canon lenses the whole time I was there, and when the light finally quit and we started to pack up we began chatting. Turned out to be non other than Michael Frye. Very nice guy.

What a fabulous image you presented here! That is my compliment.
As to your curiosity why not many other photographers there that morning.. perhaps they know how famous you are.. so didn't want to come closer??
As to Michael Frye.. you are absolutely right! He IS a very nice person and a wonderful and dedicated photographer.
