Thanks all, for your kind comments. It's usually the cloud conditions that bring me by the area. But for the winter one, even though it looks like a "normal" winter scene, it was actually quite unusual. As I recall it was a March winter storm a year ago, where warm temperatures suddenly turned very windy with near zero temps. So the wet snow suddenly froze onto everything: fences, trees, even these little ones -- a good, thick coating, and the stiff winds blew drifts over the frozen ground. That and the clouds brought me up there that day.
Kee: there are about 5 trees in the row in total; may not have gotten the exact same trees each time, as I usually framed according to the clouds.
Dean: Thanks. I've been thinking of catching up in the 'dacks, or some spring day with you, or down in Harriman. The snow is gone here, and the mud is drying; saw my first Trilium (plant, now flower yet) this morning on a run in the woods. We should have about 3 weeks before bug season; but up the peaks, that's not a problem. So let me know whenever you're ready.
