Can you put Canon Eos lens like the 16-35 or the 300 on a Fuji XT1 body and if so where do you get the adapters? and what do you recommend

Yes, but there's no EOS to XF adapters (yet) that allow aperture control, AF, and/or IS to work.

I have a 'generic' Kipon EOS-FX adapter from eBay that works very well with my EOS-mounted, manual focus Alt lenses, but there's no "Metabones"-style smart adapters for Fujifilm X cameras.

Even if there was, with the 1.5x crop factor, I couldn't see much point of putting a 16-35 f2.8 on when there are so many excellent, and affordable options like the 14mm f2.8, or the 18-55, which is f2.8 on the wide end.

300mm makes sense though as there are no fast native long lenses

Jim - I assume you were talking (above ) about Canon FD lenses? Which FD lenses have you found worthy of use on Fuji?

Even if you are a full time Canon DSLR shooter with tons of glass, I still don't think the XT1 would make that much sense.

Why not go for a Sony A7 (used price even less than an XT1) and get the Metabones adapter, which gives full aperture control and even AF on many lenses, not to mention making your 16-35 a proper wide as its FF

The XT1 is a great camera, make no mistake, but something like the 14mm/f2.8 in its native mount just would work much better for a wide angle, in addition to being so much smaller/lighter than the 16-35

Nope, I was wailing about the lack of support for EOS auto-aperture, AF, and IS lenses on X cameras.

There are many excellent, Alt lenses for use on Fujifilm X cameras.

Even though it makes no sense, I too would like to see some EOS-xmount auto adapters.

I've used my non focus via wire lens on my X-E1.
Of course, wide open, no electronic aperture, and no AF.
What I would love is for an adapter that supplied power so I could use the two focus via wire lenses I have:
- Canon 50/1.0 L
- Canon 200/1.8 L
Not looking for aperture, AF, nor IS, just power.

Hi lesgage..

I use an eos FX adapter and love using with all my canon lenses (24-70 2.8II, 85 1.2 II, Samyang 14mm, and 70-200 4 IS) all work full aperture and manual focus, but that only makes it fun. Also, with focus peaking its easier to nail the focus. LOVE the XT1 canon FX lens combo.

I got the adapter as a throw in when bought the XT1, from the store, they had one - someone bought it from ebay... chinese made totally manual of course but works. Costs prob $10-30.
