I'm been looking at these, as a lower costing yet sturdy folk focus.

They are sold here: http://www.hondogarage.comhttp://www.hondogarage.com

Wondering if anyone here has tried one, and what you think.

Here's the correct link. Looks interesting; I might just try one of these. Thanks for this.

Yeah, couldn't pill it up at my school. They make an adaptor for the nifty fifty that many folks are buying for other folk focuses.

Hi,

I'm the owner of Hondo Garage and the designer of the 50-Dollar Follow Focus. If anyone has any questios about our products, I'd be happy to answer them.

Looks like an awesome product Wiley, I have a nifty fifty, so I like the adaptor you guys made also. I have a 16-35 2.8L and a 70-200 2.8 L as well as the nifty fifty. What would be needed to transition easily between the lenses on a shoot?

The best setup for fast lens swaps would be to use the fdff with the gear adapter, and to add lens gears to your other lenses. The nifty fifty adapter has a gear ring and grooves for a belt, so if your other two lenses have gear rings on them (we don't sell the lens gear itself but there are lots of affordable ones out there) you can change lenses easily. The Pro version of the fdff comes with the gear adapter. The fdff has been used on set by a number of our customers but it shines as a single operator focus for people who want really small setups as it's much smaller than a standard follow focus.

Cheers,

Wiley
