That is written by the person who assured us after the 5D3 announcement that Canon would rush out the 5D4 a year after the 5D3 if not sooner because the 5D3 was so awful and would not sell much at all.
We simply agree to disagree if Canon's current way is right or wrong in the FF sector. I hoped that Canon would rethink their strategy when the D800(E) was announced first in 2012, but we know now that Canon simply focuses on another part of the photo market which is video/action/wedding/event/sports photography. Canon continues to ignore the demand for a new sensor based FF camera - and this is not because only few people desire such camera. It is a strategic thing, and Canon gets/will get the bill for it. You will disagree with me surely in this point since you support Canon to its fullest, so a discussion is useless there with you and some others in this forum. Fortunately Sony recognized this gap in Canon's line and offered a solution for all who don't need the fast AF or fast fps for photography. So we are all good now - the market simply has split, some unsatisfied with Canon's strategy went with Nikon, others added the Sony A7 line, others continue to use the 5D MkII or wait.
I never felt associated to one single company only even I am currently well vested in Canon glass. I simply choose the best tools for my needs, and currently this is a mix of Sony and Canon cameras and lenses. I simply dislike the 5D MkIII because it gives me zero improvement over the IQ from my 5D MkII - you know this. Canon was smart in one regard: not releasing another alternative higher end camera with better sensor too soon, because now people are forced either to go with the MkIII or the 6D as new Canon FF EOS camera in a more reasonable price range - you simply have no other choice within Canon's offerings.
