p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Lexar 1066x 32gb CF card

I recently bought 2 of these bad boys as an upgrade/compliment to my 4 400x 32gb transcend 32gb CF cards.

I can tell you they are way faster, I haven't done a comprehensive 12fps burst in RAW test yet but I can tell you it's noticeably different and the write and read speeds with a usb 3.0 card reader are more than 2x the 400x.

having said that, I've noticed there are not any reviews out on this card. Is it that new? I don't follow the progression of the cards. I see a lot of tests for the 1000x lexar, but not the 1066x which seems to see improvement on the write side at a 155MB/sec rating.

Anyway, links, thoughts?

yes they will be depending on the camera. you are now pretty much at the write speed limit of PATA which is the interface for CF.

after this its either CFast 2 or XQD/XQD II

Yes it's rather obvious that Lexars latest and fastest CF card will be faster than one of Transcends older and slower cards
And yes the card is rather new

Not that one but I have tested the Lexar 1000x and many others.

Yes. I saw this before. Probably the best and most comprehensive comparison ice found. Just doesn't include the 1066x and I was really just curious how much more real world performance it has compared to the 1000x. Maybe I'll try to replicate your test.

No, I just bought the 1066x. Hadn't bought new cards since 400x Just curious. It's science. I read the claimed specs. Now I want to know how it stacks up to the 1000x and others. Don't you want to know? I'm home now. Maybe I can set something up here in a second and see.

not really
I only get trigger happy when i'm shooting a cheetah doing a 100m dash at 60mph...and that is over within 4-5 seconds and not once have i had a hiccup with lexar 1000, sandisk extreme pro or the transcend 1000x. camera used is 1Dx

Well, If I had 1000x I certainly wouldn't sell them to upgrade to the 1066x. But since it seems lexar dropped the 1000x and replaced it with the 1066x I'm just curious.

I shoot motorcycle racing so I do get into the buffer a bit with my cards but the 1066x should be fine.

The 1000x cards were always rated as 145MB/sec. write speeds in the 32GB and larger sizes. Whoopee, the 1066x cards are 5 MB/sec. faster at that.

EBH

I was seeing 106MB/sec write in camera.

Added my findings to your thread. No faster than the 1000x if I duplicated your test well enough.
