Honestly check out Adorama Pix photo books using their high gloss pages and photo cover. They do not look like crappy snapfish books or other consumer type photo books. They look great for the low cost. I would use them for a wedding album or anything but they make a great guest sign in book.

Edit. I apparently don't read threads. I was talking about albums. Not guest sign in books. Sorry.

Well, you answered a question I probably was going to ask in about a month or so. So your skills at predicting human behavior are quite good, and I can see quite a few benefits from that in this occupation.

Thanks for all the other insights as well. If anyone else wants to add their experience, feel free to do so. One thing that seems constant is that while one person may have a good/bad experience with a publishing company, another person may have a bad experience with that same company.

If lots of people tend to say the same thing, it helps to narrow things down. For example, I've read a lot of others who have written that KISS makes their album ordering process simple, which really helps non-techies like me.

Thanks! I'll pass on your feedback to our team at the AdoramaPix lab

Unless my client wants a high end book I use press books for guest books. Ive never used a 'good' album for that, they just dont want to spend the money on a guest book... They are easy to sign too. What is your couple looking for in terms of a guestbook? Nice or something cute and works?

I use Mypublisher with some upgrades or Adorampix. I second adoramapix. I think they are Really nice for press books. I guess you could say they are 'high end' press books. I offer adorampix for my 'economy' wedding album, not everyone wants a flush mount or a flush mount for the parents... I dont advertise it but I offer it when asked. A good press book is better than photos trapped on a drive...

I dont do them very often, I actually sell more of my graphic design guest books! haha They are prints they frame with some design.

This isn't a specific couple (currently). I'm just trying to meet an anticipated need in the future by planning ahead.

What kind of pages are these other labs using?? To me, just because it's press printed doesnt mean anything....also, RA4 paper is not what you want for a guest book. I use BRI Hinged Art Pages. Non glossy, like water color paper. 6 color upgrade, canvas cover. Use Faber Castel Pitt Artist Pens (India Ink) to sign with. I cant think of any archival pen that would stick to glossy paper (or even matte RA paper) without smearing...you gotta have a paper that will absorb ink...

I've used Finao Element TXT books for the past 4-5 years. They're fantastic and much higher-end looking and unique than any of the press options out there.

Has anyone tried the "Album 99" from Nations?

I always found their album spine to be the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen, but this new album looks like it might be usable for parents/guestbooks.

I stopped by their place in-person this past week.

I'll be posting my thoughts later, probably Tuesday; lots of stuff going on right now.

I use the Kiss linen books for guest books - sometimes even 8x8" leather books, but they are pricy. Clients LOVE the linen. Guests sign with thin point silver Sharpies.
