So I went to use my D7000 today and whoa, she's got one dirty sensor.

I attached three pictures of my sensor and the serious amount of dust/oil on it. My rocket blower didnt stand a chance... whats my next step here?

Dust or oil, cure's the same. Git yerself some swabs and fluid, skip the triple espresso latte and get to work.

I would think the Rocket Blower would get rid of most of the dust bunnies. Sounds like oil to me....

Time to swab the deck.

Yeah, that's pretty messy.

First I'd use my Arctic Butterfly brush. Then (assuming you're not done) I'd use some VisibleDust Sensor Clean fluid with Vbrush swabs. It might take some time, but it should clean up OK.

Try a blower, then a clean brush. If they don't work, get some eclipse fluid and some swabs. Copperhill products are reasonably priced. I use clean artists' brushes, but most are coated with a contaminant.
