Hi Guys!

Here is a frame from last night.

A friend and I try to get out every once in a while and shoot some landscapes.

Its a great way to relax and enjoy the beauty of our surroundings.

Anyways, hope you like it!

Cheers
BK

Very nicely composed and processed. I'm unsure about the bits of flare though. I'd be interested to see a version with them cloned out.

It shows the exceptional beauty of that place.
The yellow large flare would not bother me; maybe the two pinks ones might do so a little.
Where is it? Scotish Highlands?

The flare was caused by the mist, I really like it.

It is Scotland but not in the highlands. I made this frame about an hours drive from Glasgow which is in central Scotland.

Thanks guys for your input!

Cheers

The flare he was referring to was the circular aperture flare blobs. I see maybe 3 of them. The misty light is nice though.

All and all a nice shot. Loose the flare and it will be even better

The circular aperture aperture flare blobs you speak of were created by the mist (small water droplets) on my lens and filters.

Hi BK,

A pretty cool looking shot except for the flaring from the lens. I would really suggest that you clean that up. It pays to keep the lens clean when shooting, just for that reason. Though shooting into the sun will produce the aperture shaped flares no matter what. That's where taking a 2nd shot blocking the sun provides a good background to blend out those flares.

You have a great view, and except for the flaring a really special shot. I would take the extra time and clean that up.

Jim

I have other shots where I cleaned the lens with a cloth and they isn't any lens flare.

My personal preference is this shot with the flare.

IMO is adds... Flair!

I understand not everyone will agree and that is perfectly fine by me.

Have a great day!

Checking the EXIF you shot this at f32? I am guessing you don't have a ND filter? F32 is very extreme for digital photography and often yields many unwanted artefacts like diffraction, more noticeable dust spots and loss of clarity. A scene like this would have best been shot at F8-11 with a ND filter to get the longer exposure needed for smooth water falls. I like the composition and light. If it was me I would work to clone out the spots. Not easy on falls. I know, been there done that!

The artifacts he is mentioning are not flare. Stopping down that much reduces overall sharpness across the frame.
