After what I said, in my previous post, about liking the bilateral symmetry, I found a confusing flowering. I took some shots with my Vivitar Serires 1 Kiron 105mm macro at f8 1/125 ISO 400.

It seems that two buds came up at the same time, chin-to chin, or rather lip to lip.

This hybrid is Pleione Whakari.

At first glance, not an orchid?

On close examination, all is revealed.

I decided to gently untwist the flowers so that they can be seen in more like their usual splendour.

I set the lens half a stop smaller for a bit more DOF without getting too much background in focus. There had been some rain since I took the earlier ones.

Thanks.

That's my problem with the plants. Collecting fever is a hazard!
