Hi Bob, I like them all

#1 - My favorite. Really like how you see some of the pipes and tanks inside the building, and the clouds reflected in the windows. Maybe selectively bring up the clarity around the tanks and crop in from the right? I find that right-hand pipe to be distracting from the cool patterns.

#2 - I like the lighting on this one. You got it nicely aligned with shadow edge being centered. Personally bugs me that the top of that one pillar is cut off.

#3 - Not as interesting as the first two in my opinion, but considering I'm at a hotel now, it's a great point for finding creative subjects in any location. Looks like it's leaning slightly to the right?

Bob,
Pretty much nailed three for three. And they are square!!!
In some ways the last is my favorite. And has the only nit I see. Wish you had a bit more dof along that last vertical segment on the right of the lock.
Textures look great and would also work with your beautiful toning. However, these are presented nicely as a series and staying true to BW, same crop, frame/mat is of course the way to go.

Thanks John,

Re #1 - I debated the 'look': higher contrast, reveal interior structure or not, and the ladder. I plan to play with alternatives, removing the ladder the last since it requires handling the reflections as well.

#2 - yup, wanted to use the full frame in camera, which I did, clipping the top a bit.

#3 - did not notice the RHS until after posting. Need to correct that. My wife was hurrying me along (usually the opposite case) as we were leaving and it was a quick grab shot.

Place we've stayed at several times, and I always enjoy finding new viewpoints.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks Scott,

Undoubtedly you recognize #2 as a variation on an image from several years back.

Glad you like the set, in this case I used a monochrome preset in PhotoNinja as a quick solution. I'll come back and hand-process (especially #s 1 & 3) in ACR and CS6 at a later time.

Series of BW candids on BWVision if you're interested.

Regards,

Bob

Karen,

Glad you enjoy them, and yup, for once no grand-kids. Saving those for later.

Bob
