Another month, another competition...

Post your best shot from March, and vote for your top 3 from competition #21:
https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1277826/

Last month's winning contribution was the moody dark photograph by Gary Clennan. Congratulations!

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/ufiles/07/936807.jpg

Simple rules:

1. Your entry must have been photographed using alt lens or gear.

Canon DSLR using Canon auto focus lens is NOT alt.
Nikon DSLR using Nikon auto focus lens is NOT alt.
Anything else IS alt, including all mirrorless systems.

2. Your entry must have been photographed during March for this run.
3. One entry per user/month.
4. Your entry must contain your top 3 picks from the last competition. You may not vote for your own photo. The top vote gets 3 points, the runner-up gets 2 points, and the last vote gets 1 point. Please include a short explanation of the reasons for your top pick.

For the voting part, you'll find the competition #21 contributions here:
https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1277826/

Pick your top 3, and name them in your post.

Please leave the EXIF intact, and copy the following, adding info for your entry.

Congratulations Gary! I thought your shot was fantastic and weren't you just saying you thought you would never win? Very well deserved. Here is mine from last month.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Camera body: Canon 5D MKII
Lens: Zeiss ZE 100 MP
Aperture: f4
Filters: None
Short note on PP: Almost none, just tweaked exposure in LR and cloned out some crap floating in the water
Top vote (3p) + reason: Ulff this shot evokes such a strong feeling. I can't fully describe it, but to me it is excellent art
Runner-up vote (2p): Bobu, such an unusual and compelling image. I wish I had two first place votes. I think any other month this would have been my first place vote.
Last vote (1p): Philber - I love the composition and symmetry another shot very worthy of a first place vote.

Here's my best for the month. I know it may not be something super unique, but I love it. The competition here is always so tough....

http://www.jordansteele.com/2014/bria.jpg

Camera body:Fujifilm X-E2
Lens: Fuji 56mm f/1.2
Aperture: f/1.2
Filters: None
Short note on PP:Almost nothing. Slight curves adjustment and a slight crop
Top vote (3p) + reason: Bobu. Simply gorgeous, with the shutter speed the perfect length to get some motion while keeping the ice crystal clear. Something about the simplicity here really speaks to me
Runner-up vote (2p):Ulff - such a great composition and wonderful B&W conversion
Last vote (1p): Gary Clennan - beautiful colors and light

In the continuing quest to simply not lurk: cemetery through chainlink. Tough B&W conversion, but there was no question it needed to be that way.

Camera body: 5DmkII
Lens: Contax 35-70
Aperture: f/3.4
Filters: None
Short note on PP: Lots of messing to get the right pop...and still working it through.

Top vote (3p) + reason: Bobu - surreal image, great lighting and composition

Runner-up vote (2p): Taylor Sherman - the gritty b&w fits the image perfectly

Last vote (1p): HelenaN wonderful mood and composition

Short note on PP: Remarkeably little, details on the shoot here
Top vote (3p) + reason: Bobu, man but that's a cool image. Both abstract and real at the same time.
Runner-up vote (2p): Ulff. Love the lines and the lighting but the cloud makes it perfect
Last vote (1p): Philber

I really have nothing from march, but this is something I guess

Lens:Fuji 18-55
Aperture: f/8
Filters: none
Short note on PP: some light processing in LR & converetd to B&W using Silver efex
Top vote (3p) + reason: Bobu, because I like it better than all the rest (and it is an amazing image)
Runner-up vote (2p): Helena

Camera body: Sony NEX 5
Lens: Canon FL 55mm f/1.2
Aperture: f/2 (pretty much stuck here, it's the sweet spot for the lens)
Filters: none
Short note on PP: Processed in Google Picassa, because I'm an impoverished college student
------
Top vote (3p) + reason: Al Wang; it is so hard to add a mood to macro-photos involving animals, lovely shot!
Runner-up vote (2p): Bobu; the shot is so mind-bending, love the subject and the approach!
Last vote (1p): Gary Klennan; a very different approach than my photography that I appreciate a lot, really has a lot of depth and interest.

People, please use the established format to post your information. When I count the votes at the end of the month, it helps alot if everyone has used the same format. Also please use exact FM usernames when voting. For instance, a vote for "Boris" may get lost when I count the votes for "Bobu".

This is it. Simply select the text between the lines below, right click, choose copy, and then paste it (right click/paste) in to your post when writing it. Thanks.
