Picked up a Sigma 400mm telemacro lens for a song. I was not really looking for it, but it kinda fell in my lap. The close focusing distance of 1.5 mts is awesome at this focal length. Armed with it, went looking for my favorite test subject (not really) - squirrels. The DOF at MFD is next to nothing. Found it very challenging to get sharp results hand held. Here are some shots from today. What do you folks think about the results? C&C most welcome and thanks for looking.
I would have to put this on a tripod for f/11 or slower. My keeper rate was way down on anything slower than 1/1000. Will try it out on my next outing.

Great result and a fun subject too
Maybe try some at f/11?
Yes, congratulations.
Color, detail look great. And, as others have remarked, quite sharp at 5.6
Do you think you can handhold sharp enough to stop down one stop for more DOR? Or add a monopod?
