We are having a wet weekend hear in NYC. Yesterday between showers I managed to get in a couple of hours of shooting at the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area on Long Island, New York. When I arrived there was a repair crew replacing one of the board walks damaged by Hurricane Irene. I’m glad to see this as this walk goes through the middle of the marsh and has allowed me to take many wonderful images over the years. Other than the crew and the naturalists I had the preserve to myself. I wondered the paths enjoying the sounds of the many early spring birds. This red winged black bird was singing away as a light spray fell yet of the females seemed interested in him. To me he is a handsome specimen.

Way to go Morris - not letting the weather keep you in. I would take your rain in a heartbeat. I'm heading out to shovel snow again this morning.
