As readers have indicated , the Sony A7r is a complex beast with many features buried within its menu.
I shoot a lot of RAW panoramas and I was spoilt with my Sigma DP2/DP3 Merrills- one button locked the AEL/AF or just the AF - it coudln't drop out as it were until you pressed the button again.
Not so easy with the A7r - I always shoot manual WB and manual exposure (again not so easy on the A7r) so only have to worry about the focus.Now manual focus is not that hard even for my eyes but if I wanted to lock the AF for say 6/8 stitches from what I can gather the following is the only way to do it is -
have the camera on AF-S then depress the shutter half way until the green focus lock comes off , ease your finger of the shutter and reset the focus to MF via Dsp.
This gives me no confidence at all- there has to be an easier way to lock AF.
Any suggestions ?
