Havent shot much lately. feel a bit rusty. buuut i try to get back into it. the first is a new spin on a classic. its a nice floating rock with a web of foam in the foreground. i like the subtle blurryness of the web that juxtaposes nicely to the firmness of the rock. the second was from an amazing sunset that had some of the sweetest light i could have asked for. tried to do a more cluttered comp, as i usually go for the simple stuff (like number 1). i think the clutter and busyness works. it usually doesnt for me, but i kinda like it.

***

the third image is a crop of the top of a vetical image. the bottom comp just didnt come through for me so i turned this into a nice pano-ish landscape. that light that night was amazing!

Loving that first Tyler. Really holds my attention. Great mood. 2 is OK but not liking the contrails. The composition seems out of balance. I am also seeing a lot of noise in the foreground. I think a square crop losing the bottom 40% and cloning out the trails would make it a stronger image. I like what you were going for with the foreground wave motion but it is not working for me.

i agree on the second scott. i have a love hate with it. i think its the experience of the actual sunset that holds me too it. without having experienced the sunset, then i agree its a mess of an image

thanks for taking the time to look

I actually love the wave shape in the second photo. For me it works well, it looks like its almost wrapping around the rock. The contrast between the blurred wave and the sharp rock is awesome.

Very cool!

I like the second shot. The contrails are a distraction but it's a very beautiful scene.

Hey Tyler,

#1 is really cool, but I think #2 would really be outstanding with 2 changes. First, lose the contrails. Second, crop off the bottom so that the water that is curling around the rock is the bottom of the shot, so perhaps a 4:5 format crop would work.

thanks! the wave shape was one of the better ones i got that night. and the side light on the rock really made every little detail pop.
