p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Locking auto focus and exposure on the Sony A7r

I have just purchased a Sony A7r with CZ 55 and 35 mm lenses. In Australia all A7rs come with the Metabones 3 Adaptor - I elected for the Canon EOS mount as I will be looking for an 85 mm and possibly a 24 mm lens.
Still getting used to to the complex menus but have a question for the Forum.I would like to do some stitches (and yes I print really big) but am not certain how to (a) lock exposure and AF at the same time.It was really easy on my DP2 & DP3 Merrills as you pressed the AF/AE button. Can't seem to find where in the menus -its probably buried somewhere deep in them.Any ideas ?
PS I have just purchased Brian Smiths A7/A7r book and this should be here in a few weeks, thank goodness.

lock exposure using the AEL button on the back when the lever is switched to AEL instead of AF/MF, and remember you can change the C1, C2, and C3 buttons to do anything you want them to do. Or you can lock focus by half pressing the shutter.
Really though, you have endless possibilities and combinations to do those two functions.

So what you are saying is that by simply switching this button to AEL you will have no need to do anything else- this will remain locked until you change it back.
If this is correct it will make my work a lot easier especially when I am stitching RAW images

Yes, lock with AEL and focus with shutter. Hold down the lock and shoot away

using the shutter to lock focus won't work for panoramas where you want to take a bunch of differently framed shots without changing focus. it works better to set focus to the AF/MF button. then you can set one flip the switch and set the other and both will stay locked till you hit the AF/MF or AEL button again.

Set AF Mode to AF-S

I tested this today. It works.
