I did my first senior session for a family friend. Although it was freezing out Sunday, we managed to have some fun and come away with some captures they were happy with. As always, observations and tips are most welcomed.

I think these are great.

Good poses and you seemed to capture his personality. I think your client should be very happy with these.

#7 is my favorite.

Nicely done.

While the partly cloudy/cloudy day gave you soft light, it causes dark eyes (raccoon eyes). I think these would have been helped by a low reflector kicking in some light in the eyes.

I would consider cloning out the lamp post in the center of #1. I love his relaxed smile and pose in #7.

Ditto on the raccoon eyes, and clone the DAK off the ball in #2.. I like #6 if you brighten it a tad.

You did really well and I'm sure they're quite happy, but another ditto on the raccoon eyes. Gotta get light to the eyes. I really like the football pushup!

Thanks Russdenny01. If they don't pick #7, I will present it as a gift.

Good eyes Dmacmillan & Coreybell. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks for looking. I had my reflector so next time I'll make sure to employ it.

You should be very proud of these. I would crop a little off the bottom of 7 and the top of 8. Then I would use a slight vignette on all of them. He was lucky to have you do his portraits.

All good comments so far. Nice set.

My only other observation is the skin colour seems to vary quite a bit. It might be just light shine making it seem different in some of the shots.

Thanks Jim, I'll revisit the ones they choose to be a bit more consistent.
