tempted to buy...just got a 5d3 and sigma 35 art..
Put it this way - I bought it back on the last double dip for $100 less. I agonized over it as I'd just gotten the 100L (and 2 months before that a 6D kit and 17-40) and I figured I was starting to go a bit overboard here. But I figured if I was looking at the Tamron at $1200 for months - which is spotty at best, the Canon was a no-brainer for an extra $500. VC or no. So I pulled the trigger figuring if I wasn't completely bowled over it could go back.
Every. Single. Doubt. Evaporated.
With my first lightroom import.
Even just stupid shots of the dog to see if it worked were gorgeous. How often do you shoot a wall to check for decentering and go "wow"?
Everything they say about this lens is true - it's really hard to define, but the sum is certainly greater than the parts. Plus, it's pretty cool to have a lens with greater resolving power than your camera!
