For lenses, it should be about the same as from the US. You'll probably pay sales tax and a (hopefully) small handling fee, but not duty. For example, I bought a new Sigma EX 120-300/2.8 OS from HK in October 2012. The costs for the lens, shipping, and US/CA exchange totalled about $2270, and I had to pay $177 on delivery. That's about half the normal sales tax. Maybe it was declared for a low value. I don't remember.
All of my cameras were bought in Canada.
You might get charged duty on lighting, support, and other accessories (same as from the US).
