I would think that a company as large as them would be designed to manage thousands of repair orders.
I don't think it quite works like that. You need skilled techs to diagnose and repair. The 600 is a consumer level camera, meaning there are likely a lot needing repair on top of their normal workload. It's not like they can just hire temps to fix things. And it's unlikely they want to hire a ton of people, train them just for this big recall and then lay them off. Training is an expensive investment to make.
