It's $1200 with 10-30 power zoom, grip, and EVF full bundle. The body only price is what everyone cares about, but that isn't an option yet. A bit spendy as a kit IMO, however if that sensor is top notch along with 20 FPS with AF tracking they should be able to charge a bit of a premium, since nobody else has that. Heck, the 3 year old V1's speed and AF still hasn't been matched by any other mirrorless manufactuer.
I'm not sure they could do that with a DX sensor, and is likely one reason why they are CX. They have something nobody else has with that AF and speed. You don't need DX to compete in mirrorless. M43 is thriving, and Sony has been very successful with their $750 RX100 P&S camera, using the same size sensor as CX format. Big sensors also mean big heavy leses - look at the Sony NEX system, if you want a tele zoom it starts to defeat the purpose of a small, compact, camera .
Good on Nikon for releasing something truly interesting, and on paper, incredibly impressive. Lets hope it lives up to the specs, and for the body only price to be in the $500-700 range (kit lens price separately is $299, grip and VF prices unknown).
The Coolpix A viewfinder is a $400 accessory, so I'm glad they aren't asking those kind of dollars.
Another thing I was thinking is it's likely to get another $125 dive rated underwater housing from Meike/Polaroid that worked so well with the V1/J1.
I can't explain the 1-series 70-300VR at $999 though. You can buy a FT-1 and 55-300VR for half the price, granted it would be bulkier.
