I love how small it is and I am getting used to the feel of it and am really thinking of getting another for the upcoming wedding season.

Has anyone used one yet for weddings?

I'm curious how the AF performs. It allegedly has the same AF system as the d600 which I don't find quite capable enough for dark receptions.

I agree that the D600 is not great in the dark, although using single point AF with a flash allows the AF assist beam. This helps a lot, but of course is not a perfect solution.

My buddy uses it for his weddings. Says it's outstanding.

I've been using a DF in tandem with D3S bodies and a D800 and I don't have any real complaints. Focus isn't awesome in the dark with no contrast, but the simple solution there is a flash on the camera with AF Assist, then it's no problem.

The camera's size and weight make it a joy to use and the shutter is so quiet... me like.

This is what I rely on. I remember someone started a topic here asking people about the percentage of shots they get in focus, and no one believed me when I said 90-95% of my shots are... well, the AF assist beam is why. Maybe it's a bit annoying for subjects and maybe it's not the discreet way some people like to shoot, but it works very well for me.

Two bodies and two small lenses.

Must be nice to be able to shoot weddings so successfully while working with such little amount of gear. Light weight to carry around. Very minimal dollar investment into your business. Low cost of theft insurance due to the low value of the gear. Easy to keep track of so that nothing walks off without you knowing.

I see nothing wrong with this. When I shot Nikon last year I mainly used 2 bodies and 2 lenses. This year with Fuji, I will be doing the same, wide on one and mid tele on the other. Of course there are other items, lenses and cameras in a bag near by, but keeping it simple and worrying about how to capture the image is what I am after now rather than what piece of gear should I use to shoot this.

To answer your remark, yes it is nice to shoot weddings with little gear.

Yes. I'm now using 2 Df's, and 24/35/50/85 f1.4's.

I adore shooting with such powerful, yet light and quiet, cameras.

No. Sold my 70-200 in 2010. Haven't missed it.

Maybe in England you don't end up shooting from the back of large churches?

Churches have relaxed more over here and it's rare to be forced to the back now.

The one thing that bothers me about this body is the fact that it is a single card slot camera. And for shooting weddings that makes me nervous.

MRomine - I shot with one card for a long time with the Canon 5Dc and 5DII.

Size wise - isn't the D610 about the same size as the DF?

And with better ergo. The only reason I can see to shoot with the DF is the sensor, and I prefer the 24mp sensor myself.

I'm going to request a D4 and then a Df from NPS as soon as my taxes are finished. I shoot everything in manual, so I like the Df's ISO dial in particular. But how will it feel with an SB-910 and 70-200? Have to try it and find out. Also, not excited about giving up 51pt AF. But I want to try it
