I just thought I'd share this one image from a wedding this past week-end in banff Canada. I rarely try silhouettes and if I do I don't spend too much time on them however I'm starting to challenge myself each wedding and do one thing that is out of my "comfort box" and with each wedding afterwards the hope is that become easier and quicker to achieve.
I shot it at iso 4000 on my d3s and used LR5 to adjust and correct the grain, then sharpened in Nik software. I used PS to dodge and burn the silhouette and shadow and used a speedlight and magmod grid (with filter to match the temp) to blow out the chest behind them as it was very dark and helped to make their whole body appear. Of the number I shot, this may not have been the best one but I'm ok with it not being perfect. We sometimes only have a few minutes so we get what we get and I'm not a big fan of stealing the bride and groom for very long during the reception as I'd prefer them to be with friends and family and not a lowly photographer.lol
I'm off to Ethiopia and Turkey for a month so have a great spring and I'll try and check in every so often to see what's new out there. If you want to follow some of the trip you can check it out on my facepages or my instagram when I'm able to post some of the images.
All the best,
Carey
