Anybody have any experience using DXO's Viewpoint software?

How does it compare to you what your can already in Photoshop CS6 which I currently use? Is it worth it?

Also I use FisheyeHemi for defishing my Samyang 8mm images with fantastic results and minimal loss of image real-estate and image loss towards the edges. How does Viewpoint compare in your opinion?

I dunno the other but I evaluated DxO and it's good. If I compare to LR then DxO is better in just about every regard - including perhaps the most important aspect: The end result.

DxO is an extremely guided workflow however. But if you're alight with that then fine.

I use Viewpoint because it does volume anamorphosis correction, and I find that feature alone to be worth the price. I don't know how applicable that is to fisheye images, though.

What is 'anamorphosis correction', sounds like a disease?

That's where objects or people near the edges of the frame appear to be stretched into an unnatural shape. It really makes a difference to be able fix this, especially in ultra-wide shots. I believe there are examples on the DxO web site.

Ah yes, the rectilinear streatch towards the edges. FisheyeHemi works great at minimizing this when defishing.
