Looking for something to compliment my 85 1.8 in studio. Mostly shoot deeper depth of field but I need something in the 135ish range for more compression.

I've been looking at the 70-210 f4 AF and 70-210 f4-5.6. I'd like a 135/2 but it's a bit out of budget at the moment. Was also considering the 135/2.8 or 3.5 AI-S, but I'm a sucker for af, even if it is slow (not so great eyes).

What are your opinions on those lenses? Are there any other options out there?

80-200 AF-D is available for a reasonable price, and it amazes me how good it looks for the money. i have the 70-210 4-5.6 AF-D too which I like for walking around because it's much lighter, but in a studio I would go for the 80-200.

I've been using in studio a 70-300 VR AF-S with great results. Lightweight, quite inexpensive, with VR... Between 70mm and 200mm is very sharp. I also have a newer 70-200/4 VR which is a great lens but in studio, at the same aperture, I could not guess which lens was used...

One more thing... if you can stretch a bit your budget Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro is a great lens for portraiture... in studio but outside as well... This lens has a unique way to render the skin and could be used as well for macro and close up shots.
