Thanks guys. Tim - ha yes it was near Roosevelt, I saw him just about every day I was there, I guess he's a survivor I was a little worried about the safety of being there in winter but I rented a Subaru outback which did great on the roads, had no real problems, it was a lot of fun. A little cold. (I heard it made 20 below a couple mornings.) The wolves are definitely king in winter, they had carcasses all over the place, although I still didnt get the good close wolf shot I've been dreaming of. There were a fair number of photographers out during the day, I was surprised. I think it was my favorite of the 3 times Ive been to Yellowstone.
