My latest "victim" was ill so got my daughter to fill in for practice.

60cm octo main light camera left, fill via 60x90cm softbox camera right
D800E, 135/2.8 ais @ f5.6 or f8

Colour or B&W ?

Both are very nice, but b&w really stands out for me. Very nice portrait.

B&W, but it could be because on my monitor the WB is too cool. It has a blue-ish cast. Also, looks like you cleaned up the stray hairs above and around her head in the B&W one.

Agree. Maybe try to warm up the first one. Look at the whites of her eyes. The BW is spot on though.

Nice, but the sharpening of the eyes compared to the skin softening is too dramatic a contrast.

love the B/W picture.... may be re-touch around the left side of nose bridge. looks a little shiny.

I like the image, but the hot spot on the tip of her nose caught my eye immediately. And a small spot between her eyes, camera left.

I like her calm expression and the B&W processing is better suited for my taste. I agree with Vancouver47 about the skin post processing. Did you try taking a picture with a shorter focal length? That might also work.

I like the black and white a bit more.. the colored make the eyes look to photoshoped

For her skin tone, I really prefer the B&W. The eyes in the color image are a little too sharp.

I am partial to the BW here. The color feels distracting to the subject.
