One of the prettiest of the chain of missions between Mexico and the Bay area.
This view is of the front of the church.
But as with all the missions, the church was the religious center of a whole mission community.
The main purpose of the community was to convert California's native people to the Catholic Church.

Love the west coast missions Charlie. This is done very well. Might lighten the dark sky a tad so crosses appear more prominent in the view.
Structure is era style and your conversion is well done.

I agree about the sky.
Dark blue skies and Kodachrome slides make for very dark blue scans, and conversions that are at times almost black.
I did lighten the sky, but should have done more of it than I did.

Yeah, I have that problem with my slide scans also. The Nikon Coolscan I have is very good but if the sky is very blue and there is an object of interest amidst that bg, it is very dark and almost lost.
Then, as you say, that becomes a battle to get the image correct in all areas.
