As always in remote locations around the world, it's a lot more expensive to have someone else do your work for you.
In the far northern rural areas, most people are basically do-it-yourselfers (by necessity).
Building a cabin like this is mostly one of semi-skilled labor- lots of labor.
If the logs are straight (and northern spruce are) and the caulking is done well, most of the battle is already won.
Build a watertight slanted roof, put in a wood-burning stove, build an outhouse and you're in business.
Furnish the interior however you want.
Chop plenty of wood for 40 below zero winters.
