I used the Dot Tune method on my 400DO lens and got the following results.....

1Dx -8

7D. +10

Has anyone used the method on the same lens and two different bodies? What kind of results did you get? I have more lens I am doing I will post those as I go.....

Comments? Thanks, Herb

I've used Dot tune on my 400L 5.6 on my 7D and 5DIII and on the 7D it came back at -6 and on the 5DIII it is -3. I just think different bodys have different tolerance's AF wise! I'm happy with the results I get from both cameras

It's normal. The need for tuning arises from a misalignment of the optical path to the phase-detect autofocus sensors vs the optical path to the image sensor. The elements within the camera represent a large part of that path.

+1, since the day they have MAF, seem more on the loose of MFG calibration on both lenses and bodies
