I notice Trey Ratcliff has been using and reviewing the Sony Nex 10-18 on his Sony A7R. It looks like no adapter is required. I wonder if autofocus works??

Yes, all e-mount lenses will mount on the A7(R). Metering, AF, all work.

I have the 10-18 on an A7. Works well without vignetting around 12-16mm (full frame, not crop).

Sony should just re-release this lens as a 12-18mm FE zoom then

Does the OSS still work with the A7R?

Thanks.

Have any of you actually tried this with satisfactory image quality? I am hoping to use this to replace a heavy metabones+Canon16-35 combination, but it seems the distortion is quite serious... wondering if others have had better luck on an A7?

I had this lens for a short time and it was very good. However, it takes the A7r from a 36MP camera down to 16 automatically. I might still get this lens when the A6000 comes in but I was more impressed with this lens at APS-C 16MP resolution than I was with the 24-70FE.

I recall there being a menu option to select if you wanted it to automatically go into crop mode or remain FF, just like on Nikon FF bodies when you mount a DX lens

AF works. If you disable the automatic crop mode you can shoot this as a full frame lens. You get vignetting from 10mm to 12mm. 14mm to 16mm is good. Vignetting comes back at 18mm.

Between 14 to 16mm the center is very sharp. The edges are pretty soft.
