Anybody plan on using rangefinder wide-angles on this body? I haven't been thrilled with my CV15, ZM25, or ZM35C on the A7. But I'd love to get some 24mp files even cropped with these lenses if they perform better than they did on the NEX-7. Brownie points if they are smudge/magenta-cast resistant relative to the NEX-6. These lenses were awesome on the GXR in the corners, but the sensor in that body is long in the tooth.

That's certainly good news for something like the Biogon 28mm F2.8.

That's quite promising mMontag! I look forward to testing out a demo version in the near future. Based on the blogger's other post, he seems to see the CV15 through rose-colored glasses, so I'll remain skeptical a bit until I try it out for myself and see what other FM members come up with in use.

Got mine today in Toronto. I had already tried it before so I'm not all that surprised by anything yet. Also got the 35mm and the 18-105.
The EVF is suprisingly laggy in low light, not sure why that is. Some pieces feel very cheap, like the door that protects the micro USB port. The door of the battery compartment can't be taken off so don't expect a battery grip. I have huge hands though so I will be looking out for something that make the body a bit more substantial. AF is pretty quick and the menus are almost intuitive.

The 18-105 is HUGE but 1) it's sharp; 2) it's much cheaper than the 16-70. My copy doesn't seem decentered either. Although it is heavier than the 16-70, I think it is easier to handle because the 16-70 zoomed out becomes very front heavy. The 18-105 is a powerzoom so it doesn't zoom out.

The 35mm looks pretty nice. Focuses faster in low light than the 18-105.

Overall, I'm pretty happy given the price paid. I hope sony will make a slightly better quality APS-C body, and hopefully one that is higher as well but this can be fixed with an aftermarket grip.

EVF is probably laggy in low light due to a lower sensor read out rate (shutter speed) needed to produce a brighter image in the EVF.

I don't know why I keep forgetting about those. Do they work in video as well? The sigmas go crazy in video and can't AF.

I will be purchasing an A6000 (have an NEX-6 now) and I have both Touits. The motor is quite loud and you will hear it on video. One downside.. so I usually just set my focus in MF and record. The IQ of the video even at iso 1600 and 3200 is extremely reasonable regarding noise from the low light stuff I've recorded (on the NEX-6) so I would expect the A6000 to be even better.

I've only done low light video for the most part and AF is kinda crap it seems. For good video AF tracking I have my A77 which excels imo + IS.

I plan on adding a FE55 1.8 for portrait use on the A6000 along with use on my A7. I hear that the A6000 and 55 1.8 is an amazing combo.

Yes, I have the 12/15 VC's and 18mm ZM. Also the 21/1.8 VC and 35mm Canon LTM which should be no problem. If my body ships next week then I'll be testing them as quickly as I can with skies and detail test shots at infinity.

There are two body versions, LM39 and M mounts. Same optics.

3 actually, there is a relatively rare version with Nikon F mount that has to be used with mirror lockup, same with the 12mm. They can be used with tilt/shift adapters on Nex though.

Just snagged one of two A6000s Berger Bros (authorized Sony dealer) put up on eBay this morning. Hopefully it'll come in later this week as advertised. Originally preordered a bit late with Sony, but I'll be moving this week (can't predict everything ), and Sony doesn't allow you to change your shipping address once ordered (really, Sony?), so I cancelled just in case. Either way, the camera will arrive eventually.

Does somebody know, how to magnify live view? I once missed focus relying on focus peaking only.
I don't have the manual at hand.

/edit: Found a pdf-manual in the net. Did RTFM.
Went in the menu to user settings, on Number 6 chose Custom Key Settings, then set Custom Button 1 to Focus Area, Custom Button 2 to Focus Magnifier.

Voilą.

Because one touch zoom has now been deprecated as a feature, the A6000 is terrible compared to Nex6/7 for manual focus. Just a heads up for those of you using legacy lenses.

I find the new two touch system unusable. Even the GX7 has one touch zoom. Grrrr... I hate it when manufacturers take stuff away that previously worked fine.

I don't have an A6000 yet, but if it works like my A7R this is no problem for me. I have set the center button on the control wheel to "Focus Magnify". This means my workflow is press center button to pull up green box, move box around with 4 buttons right around the center button, press center button again to magnify. Half shutter press ends magnify. This works really well.

I've gone from one touch focus magnify on my Nex 7 to two touch on my A7R for use with MF lenses. I guess I prefer one touch, but it only takes a fraction of a second for the second touch and often it is good to be able to move the focus magnification area around before zooming in. You and others may prefer one touch, but to say that the two touch system is "unusable" and "terrible" compared to the one touch is hyperbole. Check out the A7/A7R image thread and you'll see there are a lot of happy campers using MF Glass with the A7/R two touch system. The images speak for themselves as far as whether the two touch system is useable.
