p.1 #2 · p.1 #2 · How to set fStop for Zeiss ZE lens on Leica M8 | |
All native Canon EF mount lenses, including the ZE line, have an electronic aperture control. This means you can set the aperture only from camera's capable of controlling the lens electronically. This means EOS and EOS M mount bodies (with Canon adapter for the EOS M) as well as the Sony E & FE mount bodies (with smart adapter or smart speedbooster).
The only way to set aperture for a camera like the M8 is to set the aperture on a body capable of aperture control, activate Depth of Field preview (the camera must have this capability) and dismount the lens with DoF preview activated.
Given that there is no aperture control nor any way to confirm focus prior to exposure with ZE lenses on an M8, I'd recommend skipping this combination.
