#7 Excuse the poor IQ, for behavior and size. Here's a female harrier pinching a short eared because he swapped his vole to his beak instead of getting it taken away.
Nice work with the 1120 f/8 Herb!! Great shots once again.
I never realized how small these guys are till I got to see one for the first time....the one I saw resides in the office of the veterinarian at the Wildlife Preserve...it is permanently injured but is a great attraction to the young kids that visit!!
I love the eye contact on these Herb ,but #6 is awesome and so so crisp and clear .That behavior shot is also pretty nice .That SEO was thinking quick on the wing

Hope you don't mind me posting this to give people an idea of how small these guys are. Let me know and I will take it down!!

Thanks Geoff. Yes these birds are only 12-16 inches tall and have a 3 to 4 foot wingspan. They only weigh 11-12 ounces usually.

Wonderful images, Herb- all of them.
That behavioral scene is pretty wild. A "pinch" from a hawk could be seriously damaging I'd think- if it caught hold of the owl's flesh. Did it?
