Nice action in the first two, Tim. But the sedentary ones are the best. Nice, different light in both. in #5 the boys are looking one way and the girls in another. Cooperation isn't their suit. Good job.
Rex

Thanks Rex. The males are still too young to realize what is important in life

An excellent set, Tim.
I prefer the cropped version because you still have enough of the context and the birds are larger.
Re the last shot: Is that a family of four? With the two lightest birds being the adults? Or the babies?
Charlie

Thanks Charlie! I doubt these birds are related to each other, well not in the immediate family way There were just so many of them on that beach that they didn't seem to mind perching near each other. To say there was 20 or more on a mile long stretch of beach would be fairly accurate. All of these are immature birds and this case the less mottled are males. The females have wider bands on the tail and the patterns on the body are wider than the males.

Excellent set Tim. The last is my top pick, four snowies with an even mix of males and females on a fancy perch. Were they double dating ? I also like the looser crop on the one image.

Thanks Herb. They kind of look like awkward teeners dating Thanks for the crop pick

ADDENDUM :

l too like the looser crop but I also like the tighter. As a suggestion take the crop in the second a tad more to the horizon so less of the tree trunk is visible.

You have got to be one lucky SOB Tim but we all know that luck has little to do with it.I like #2 and i'm not sure if there is a stronger word than love, but the last may be an all time favorite for me. 4 snowy owls in one frame? I'm floored

Amazing series Tim. I consider myself lucky to have been photographing one... I'm not sure what I'd do if I saw four on the same snag...

I like both the versions of image two, but the crop seems to catch my eye just a tad more.

bruce

Thanks for the thoughts and good words Bruce, I appreciate them!
