So I was playing around with my D800 and my 24-70 when all of a sudden the lens would not autofocus. The lens is about 3 months old and has been babied like all of my gear is. I tried the lens on my D7000 with the same results. I then tried my 50 1.8G on both cameras with no problems. Any ideas on what might be going on here? I checked all of my settings and I'm still having issues. Thanks in advance.
Well a clean of the contacts is always worth a try but the fact it's not working on 2x bodies looks like a lens issue..cross your fingers and toes before contacting Nikon service
The place I purchased the lens from is a Nikon Pro dealer and has someone on site for repairs and adjustments. I plan on taking the lens by there tomorrow morning. I might just pick up a 14-24 2.8 or 70-200 2.8 while I'm in the neighborhood.
Did you see the post on Nikon Rumors about a potential lens only rebate possibly coming real soon?
